Grad Guide

Life After Graduate School

Despite the rumors, there is life after graduate school! This page should have information on what Cornell Astronomy Grads have done after leaving the department.

Past astronomy graduate students from Cornell have gone on to do all sorts of itneresting things. The department listing of recent PhD recipients is here with an incomplete listing of where some former students are (note that this is biased towards students who have kept in touch with their advisors, so they are predominantly in research).

How long does it take?

The "official" statistic is 6.1 years. Below are more details for recent incoming classes. WARNING: Small number statistics, tracked for only a small number of years, no guarantees of accuracy, etc. etc.
