Now recruiting! Field test teachers for the Lawrence Hall of Science GEMS Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading.

We are currently seeking teachers in grades 3-5 to participate in the field test of new units for our Seeds of Science/Roots of Reading integrated science and literacy curriculum. We are looking for participants to teach one or two units (each either 20 or 40 sessions in length) starting in September 2008 or in January 2009. The units to be tested are:

Planets and Moons
Aquatic Ecosystems
Variation and Adaptation
Digestion and Body Systems
Light Energy
Weather and Water
Planets and Moons
Chemical Changes
Models of Matter

Each participant will receive a complete materials kit, teacher's guide, 18 copies of each student book, and more. You will be able to keep these materials and you will receive a copy of the actual finished unit once the commercial version is available.
