 REU
or Research Experience for Undergraduates is a national NSF
funded program to encourage undergraduates to become involved with
research. There are currently two undergraduates that are working
with the main researchers of this group. (Allen, Jenn, and Dmitry)
Their main job is visualization-- basically art; but this art requires
a fairly extensive knowledge of mathematics and physics. The undergraduates'
task is to make everything from basic plots to movies, using state
of the art visualization and editing packages.
The REU group has also been known to interact directly with the
main computer code, and to make a few web pages (like this one.)
