I'm an experimental astrophysicist. I've worked on a variety of fancy gizmos, including infrared instruments, adaptive optics with and without laser guide stars and interferometry. I was an undergraduate at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and a graduate student at UC, Berkeley. In between I worked for the University of Chicago, who sent me to Antarctica where I spent two years after I forgot to leave. After two years at Caltech, it was time to leave california before the weather made me soft, so now I'm at Cornell. Mostly I'm trying to figure out how to detect extrasolar planets. |
