Research

I am developing new techniques in experimental astrophyics to directly detect extrasolar planets. I'm working on aspects of coronagraphy, interferometry and adaptive optics. Despite the plethora of indirectly detected exoplanets, there's still orders of magnitude improvement over current techniques required to directly study extrasolar planets. I'm working on the calibration of "Extreme Adaptive Optics" systems, new techniques in interferometry combined with adaptive optics and concepts for an interferometer in Antarctica.
