My grandmother was the woman who made my life beautiful. When I was little she used to tell me stories and bring my breakfast, and my clothes near the bed every morning. She stood near my brother and me since we were born untill we left home and was like a mother for us. She was a Mathematics Teacher and inspired our love for school, science, and animals. Once when it was raining heavily a homeless dog entered our house. We asked our grandmother and our parents if we can keep it and they said yes. Since then we were bringing all sorts of animals at home. During my childhood we had numerous cats, dogs, pigeons, hens, a sheep, rabbits, fish, some weird species of birds that we found near a river from our hometown. My grandmother was taking care of them and my mother was treating them when they were ill. We did many experiments including giving contraceptive pills (for women) to our cat and to our doggie. My gradmother, my grandfather, and our home are still present in all my dreams. She gives me confidence. When I have problems I close my eyes and then I can see her with her unique way of passing over her troubles, of getting in front. Every time I wake up I realize how much I miss them both. |
